Administrative Tasks to Add to Your Virtual Service Packages

When starting out in your virtual assistant business, it can be difficult to decide which services to offer first. If you worked in a traditional office setting as an administrative assistant, you can offer those same types of services virtually. Most of them do not require specialized training or can be learned quickly enough for you to begin offering sooner than later.

Make a list of what you did, or still do, as an administrative assistant and begin marketing these services to audiences that would benefit from them. If you’re still not sure which ones to offer, use the list below as a starting point.

Customer Service

Tasks categorized as customer service offer help and guidance that will make the customer’s journey an easy and simple one. If the customer has a question or a problem, as a virtual assistant it is your job to communicate that they are important and you will do your best to help them as quickly and efficiently as you can.

General customer service tasks can include:

  • Answering phone calls and emails
  • Scheduling meetings and appointments with potential clients and customers
  • Following up with potential clients in a timely manner

Social Media

Any business, whether brick and mortar or exclusively online, knows the importance of networking on social media. If there is no social media manager or strategist hired these tasks typically fall on the desk of the administrative or virtual assistant. You may not be a professional social media marketer but you can consistently post or schedule updates to your client’s social media platform with ease.

Social media marketing tasks can include:

  • Planning and scheduling consistent social media posts
  • Designing and uploading social media images
  • Creating a simple, yet effective social media campaign to promote a new product or service

Do you offer any of these services now? Do you think you could add these services to your virtual assistant packages?
