Did you know it is possible to find virtual assistant clients on LinkedIn? Yup, that’s right, on this professional social media platform, I have found some of my highest paying clients. While it can take time and determination, it is possible to find clients here who will appreciate your value and pay what you are worth.
Follow these steps when searching for a virtual assistant position on LinkedIn.
Complete Your LinkedIn Profile
Begin with a complete LinkedIn profile. While not every section needs to be completed, you should fill out the following sections:
- About
- Background
- Skills
When time allows, you can add information to the Featured and Accomplishment sections.
Search for Jobs
To find positions to apply for, click on “Jobs” in the main menu. Enter search terms for “Title or Skill” and for “Location”. A few of the search terms I have used are:
- Virtual Assistant
- Freelancer
- Freelance Writer
- Social Media
- Blog Writing
It really depends on your specific specialty. As far as location, you can search Worldwide, United States, or Remote.
View Jobs Available
Once you’ve clicked “Search”, a list of potential jobs or positions will pop up. Scroll through and find positions that interest you. If you come across quite a few, you can save them to view at a later time.
Read All Instructions
When applying for any of these positions, be sure to read through the complete description and follow all instructions before applying. Many different companies have several requirements such as sending a specific type of email, including a resume and references, and also attaching samples of previous work. Other companies may want a simple email inquiry first before you send all that information.
VA Biz Lady Tip: We have a Virtual Assistant Email Proposal Template that you can download for free. I’ve used this template many times when searching for clients and applying for various VA positions.
Trust the Process
Last but not least, remain determined and committed to the application process. It may take quite a few applications or emails before you hear back from any potential clients.
Have you had success finding clients on LinkedIn? If not, what are you waiting for? Take advantage of this process today and you’ll be sure to find clients in order to grow your virtual assistant business.
